We started using FocusTraining with our son Adam during the spring of his kindergarten year.
Adam was born with Down syndrome and has global developmental delays.
One of our biggest challenges was his impulse control and hyperactivity. He also had difficulty sleeping deeply, which affected his energy, attention, and behavior during the day.
Like many parents, I spent years searching for solutions—trying different approaches, supplements, routines, and calming strategies. While some helped temporarily, nothing created consistent, lasting change.
When I first learned about neurofeedback, I felt hopeful.
We tried it with a local provider and noticed that it helped calm Adam’s body and mind. However, maintaining frequent in-person sessions quickly became difficult for our schedule.
That’s when I discovered FocusTraining and the possibility of continuing this type of training at home.
After trying it once, I knew this was something we could realistically continue as part of our daily routine.
Having a home-based system made a significant difference for us.
We were able to stay consistent, and whenever we needed support, guidance was always available.
This consistency became the key.
At school, Adam’s classroom uses a simple behavior system.
On a good day, he receives a positive mark.
On more challenging days, the outcome reflects that.
Before starting FocusTraining, he had never had a full week of consistently positive days.
That began to change.
With regular training, we started to see more consistent positive behavior at school.
His teachers noticed the difference.
Our family noticed the difference.
One of the most meaningful changes was in his overall regulation.
Better sleep seemed to support better days—and better days supported more progress.
We are hopeful about what comes next.
With improved self-regulation and attention, we believe Adam will be able to participate more fully in different learning environments and daily activities.
Every child’s journey is different.
For us, FocusTraining became a consistent, supportive tool that helped bring more calm, more structure, and more possibility into our son’s daily life.
At FocusTraining, we are honored to support families in building skills that create meaningful, real-life change.
