A Parent’s Perspective

Our son Leo always seemed bright and curious, but something felt off.

His challenges were not obvious in behavior.
He wasn’t disruptive. He was cheerful, talkative, and emotionally well-adjusted.

But we noticed something else—
he struggled to stay focused, had difficulty sustaining attention, and often lacked motivation to complete tasks.

When It Became Clear

It wasn’t until second grade that things became more evident.

His teacher began sharing concerns about:

  • Difficulty maintaining attention
  • Low reading stamina
  • Inconsistent focus during tasks

What stood out most was that these struggles were happening quietly.
He wasn’t acting out—he was simply not reaching his full potential.

His teacher recognized this early and involved the school psychologist. Together, we began to better understand what he was experiencing.

Searching for a Solution

As a parent—and as someone familiar with how attention difficulties can affect long-term outcomes—I knew we needed to act early.

I had seen many individuals struggle later in life not because of lack of ability, but because of unaddressed attention challenges.

That’s when I began researching neurofeedback and cognitive training, which led us to FocusTraining.

Early Changes

We started to notice changes within the first few weeks.

At first, it was subtle.

Then one day, I received an unexpected message from his teacher saying that his attention had improved.
This was without any prompting or explanation from us.

Over time, the changes became clearer:

  • He stayed on task more consistently
  • His engagement improved in school and activities
  • His reading level began to exceed expectations

Changes at Home

At home, we saw important shifts as well.

He became more engaged in independent activities, showed more genuine effort, and developed a stronger sense of responsibility.

Behaviors that once seemed like lack of motivation began to make more sense—they were connected to attention, not intention.

What This Means to Us

FocusTraining did not change who he is—it helped him access his potential.

He is still the same curious, bright child.
But now, he is more focused, more engaged, and more confident in his abilities.

A Meaningful Investment

For our family, this has been a valuable step in supporting our child’s development.

We understand that progress takes time and consistency, but the changes we’ve seen have given us confidence in the process.

At FocusTraining, the goal is not to change the child—
but to support them in reaching the level they are already capable of.
