ADULTS ALSO SUFFER FROM ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder)

ADULTS ALSO SUFFER FROM ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder)

Since the 1960s, attention deficit disorder (ADD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have been identified as functional disorders in children and adolescents. Two syndromes typical is the statement that those affected "cannot, what and how they want". The reason is that when they do something, they are constantly distracted by new things, with the result that they do not end anything and that they do not succeed in goal-oriented action. But the opposite can happen as well: if they are particularly interested in one thing, they may be so fixated on forgetting their environment and everything else around them that might be. Dangerous for them as well as for the environment (for example in road traffic or in the operation of electrical equipment, etc.).

In their thoughts, they lose their "thread" through the things that, so to speak, "intervene" with them. Due to the disturbance of their own perceptual distortion, those affected feel easily attacked by their environment and often misunderstood. For some, this results in them preferring to engage with themselves, reinforcing their narrowed, self-centered worldview, as well as their "I am different" feeling, under which they used to be in earlier years when the disorder was still unknown, some have suffered for life. As can be seen, a child with ADD / ADHD will also remain a full-grown adult with ADD, but the picture of the disorder will change in its effects, that is, the person may be suffering from ADD. live for many years, depending on lifestyle and circumstances virtually free of pain.

The following report on ADD and adult ADHD 'partner relationships, which receives appropriate guidance and training from me, does not apply to the latter.

"Permanently 'something in between me"

"My lived sexuality could be described as average, if there is a common definition, I do not know, and it does not matter to me." In the last 21 years, I've lived monogamous and have had no spectacular sexual encounters. "Now I am 42 years old, live without a partner for 1 1 years and practice letting go.

In the sexual field, I had and have the difficulty to get involved with everything and to enjoy it. I'm having a hard time with myself. There's always something 'sparking' between me and me realize that then the feeling and the mood is gone. I do not have to think of a not yet written shopping list, but a word of it that does not fit into the concept, or a touch of uniformity, habit of touch that I do not like so much, but I do not say, a noise from the outside, and at the same time my thoughts drift off and I'm somewhere else, just not where I want to be, with myself and with my partner.

The difficulties that arise from it are on the bed, so to speak, I am no longer in the thing, and the mood is in the devil or elsewhere. I do not understand what happens to me, because I want it and that reinforces the circle of thought, which then acts entirely as a fun break.

This has meanwhile led me to often deal with thoughts before encounters like Tonight we could ... and how will it end? So and so it can happen.... and then these thoughts come up again and again so that from the outset there is displeasure and the "cool - down" is already preprogrammed before something happens in this direction. Almost imperceptibly begins at the latest then in the head of a movie to expire that is anyway nothing again.

Disappointment and annoyance follow.

Or I try to turn off this movie, these distracting thoughts and try to get involved, in the best of intentions - maybe it will still something - but ultimately outweighs the frustrating experience, it is no fun, is boring and unsatisfactory.

And again and again the lack of understanding of why this is so with me, I want it different. "

Trigger or cause of the symptoms described (lack of concentration, lack of stamina and feelings of boredom) is in the affected people, a general overactivity of the cells in the brain (electrical potential), enhanced by stimulus diversity and sensory overload from the environment. This happens as early as childhood, during which two different syndrome types can be identified: the "hyperactive" (ADHD), the "Fidget Philipp" behaviors show and the "dreamers" (ADD), although inconspicuous, but by mental Absence and slowness of reactions are affected in the performance range.

In addition to inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity (in the second type rather inwardly), both types suffer from multiple fears, like to step into any "faux pas" and often say directly what they mean, regardless of whether it is situation appropriate.

Persons affected by ADDs are not only difficult, but they also have a lot of positive qualities. So they have e.g. often - necessarily? - have a strong ability to improvise, are not only quick to inspire but also have many creative ideas. Although they are often stubborn and react first with contradiction, but are rarely long-lasting vicious/malicious. Furthermore, ADS readers often have a rather sunny, cheerful basic mood.

As a result of the overstimulation of stimuli, in particular by the media, which will increase even more in the future, the number of hyperactive persons or their behavioral problems will consequently also increase. This, in turn, will increase the number of people with ADD or ADHD.
