THE PECULIARITIES OF THE ADHD BRAIN

THE PECULIARITIES OF THE ADHD BRAIN

The Creative Mess

ADHD is a special way to be and this means that the brain is not working worse than other brains, but it is different and it is good to know the instructions for using it to be able to use the genius and peculiarities of this brain. Yes, it does have ingenious abilities, but they do not open up to every owner right away, but you can work on that.......

So now for the first time to the difficulties with the use of the ADHD brain: it does not always work when it should or you need it. So it has e.g. the characteristic that it works especially well when an activity is fun or an exciting reward beckons. Then the ADHD brain can become true top form and move mountains because it has the property to hyper-focus. This means that it can focus incredibly well on an activity if this is exciting and interesting and this is in the telescope view of their own interests. Everything that then appears in this interest telescope is accurately perceived, processed in a highly concentrated manner and time then seems to pass by in the air. Such a state is called flow and it is the true creativity. During this flow an effortless concentration is possible and the world outside of this focus is forgotten. This can go so far that even hunger, thirst or other needs, but also other people can be hidden. In these phases, the ADHD brain can perform at their best, but unfortunately, these are not available, but they simply happen when the attention is captivated by great motivation and enormous interest.

Quite different now is it for activities that promise you no fun and no reward. Then the ADHD brain can completely refuse and even small commitments become an insurmountable obstacle, because of procacination and sluggishness. This can increase up to a mental blockade. That's the story with the huge inner pig dog and the motivation disorder. Sadly, ADHD masters are often masters of self-excuses in their perfection and push unpleasant duties and tasks over and over again and again and again to avoid uncomfortable situations. In the long run, this creates quite a hassle for people who are not thrilled with having to do the unpleasant things again and again, while the ADHD focus on things that promise them excitement, variety, and amenities. In the long run, however, one does not secure the sympathy of his fellow human beings. They cannot understand why ADHDers can do so much, if they want to, and often do not get into gear when it comes to everyday routine tasks and duties.

It is important for sufferers that they do not use ADHD as an excuse, but work on their own difficulties and grow. Anyway, it's better not to talk about difficulties, but about challenges to learn something new about yourself and your life!

It is important for sufferers that they do not use ADHD as an excuse, but work on their own difficulties and grow. Anyway, it's better not to talk about difficulties, but about challenges to learn something new about yourself and your life!

So what can one learn when it comes to using the ADHD brain?

First, it's about using these flow effects. However, it is necessary to give an explanation to the close people before such as: "I need an undisturbed time now and please do not bother me there. It may be that I do not notice much else... ", Of course, it is time to limit this flow, because you cannot expect from the other unrestricted understanding that you are concerned exclusively with your own flashes of inspiration. When you have this phase, you should try to put everything else back and take advantage of that state by writing down those flashes of inspiration.

It is also important to harvest spontaneous ideas and thoughts that can come in the most unlikely situations. The ADHD brain can really have incredible ideas, but they come by accident and by the way, and if you do not keep them in writing, they're just as quickly gone as they came. And that is a pity then. At some point, they can also emerge from the depths of the universe, but you do not know when and if, and it can be, much later than they would have needed.

So very important rule for the ADHD brain: everything that comes to their good thoughts, write down immediately or dictate to mobile phones, otherwise, they are quickly forgotten. Write down small ideas that come spontaneously, such as things they still need to buy, birthday gifts, and phone calls they need to get done. The art is always to collect the thoughts in a certain way, be it with post-it stickers or cell phone reminders and then assign them for example evening lists and specific projects. The brain works so casually and you'll wonder how much they come up with all day long. It always applies to an ADHD brain: to come from "chaos into the structure". This means that you capture, sort, map, and then work through all the many good thoughts you have. When you get used to it, you'll be amazed at how easy it is for them to put together certain projects, such as small pieces of a puzzle, to form a complete picture. When you arrange and assign your thoughts, so many great things come up, but when you sit in front of a blank sheet and start to work or develop something, that yawning emptiness in the brain often arises. The ADHD brain is a revolutionary and it is very difficult to force something, at most at the last minute. Thinking and sorting, however, requires self-discipline and that you always have the necessary utensils such as pens, notepad or sticky notes, cell phone or voice recorder and that you use them regularly.

Now there is another important feature of the ADHD brain, namely, that it often bores and then just walks. It listens to what others are saying at the next table or at the traffic light is just getting a good idea. Again, it's about finding out what a good thought is and sticking to it, while in the conversation at the next table a reminder would be good that friends could be offended if they do not know what is being told at their own table. It's really unbelievable that besides all the junk that an ADHD brain thinks and distracts from, there are always great ideas in it.

It is also important to point out that ADHD should avoid sensory overload and disturbing factors whenever possible. Every distraction and every new stimulus worsens concentration if the current activity is not super-exciting. The more distractions and stimuli there are, the more information is absorbed by the ADHD brain and needs to be processed and processed. And every new stimulus also creates more distraction. For this reason, it is not good to do several things at the same time or in addition to listening to music, watching TV or playing a computer. Information overload can lead to its data crash on the brain hard disk and further amplify chaotic and erratic thinking. It also causes too much information to end up on your brain's hard disk, and it can no longer prioritize your brain, which means it's having trouble distinguishing what's important and what's unimportant. This happens, for example. Surfing the Internet, if you are looking for some information and you are landing somewhere else. Here it can help you to say aloud what you want to work on before you start surfing, or write down your question. There are also helpful apps such as Vat. K, which help to stay focused.

The ADHD brain also often has difficulty learning. What you have learned is not processed and stored in memory so well. This may be related to the fact that too much unimportant information is available. Unfortunately, you are forced to learn and, above all, to repeat more than others. It is helpful that you tell yourself what you have learned and keep repeating. It is important for you to create a learning plan during exams and to process it every day. And again: "The more boring the material, the harder it is for you to learn it.

Unfortunately, the chaos that reigns on the desk or in the apartment also prevents clear thinking. A tidy environment also helps to sort out better and to feel more self-contained.

For the most part, ADHD students are the spontaneous, creative thinkers and especially not the analysts who bring sophisticated and brilliant projects to an end. So it can be very useful for you to get together with the people who can think like this and they can learn a lot from those who work in a structured way and are accurate and careful. It can be a good combination to look for people who are exactly complementary in their characteristics. The prerequisite for this is the tolerance and appreciation of others who think, feel and act differently.

But unfortunately, these boring duties always have to be done every day. ADHD students can experience even non-essential activities as hard work and endless discussions about the meaning or nonsense of these activities lead: but does nothing and the sooner one does these unspeakable jobs, the sooner you have fun and time for something better. The more you put energy into avoiding duties, the more you spoil your mood and its wasted energy and time. Best of all, it is for you to promise yourself rewards for the work done here is, unfortunately, this corrosive boring saying: "first the work and then the pleasure". Most ADHD activists have committed freedom fighters, anarchists and do-gooders who do not want to be patronized and restricted by rules. You probably also know that you hate nothing more than a daily routine, boring activities, and "you must and you should." Even as adults, these sentences are often simple: "no go," even if you say them to yourself. It's helpful, instead of motivating yourself with the annoying prompting sentences like, "You finally have to"... Rather say, "It's better for me to do this awkward thing right away and make yourself a nice reward in view. Think about how you can reward yourself. Positive reinforcement is always better than pressure and coercion, even if it is one's own. And how many times have you heard these threatening phrases in your childhood, such as "if you do not, then ..."

It is also important to note that you do not start several things at the same time. Do not jump from one job to another, because there is always the danger of getting bogged down. 10 things done a bit, stays a bit, a thing right, makes a good feeling! Do Things You Begin Concentrated, Proper, and Complete It "This phrase is important because it is a key to success. You also know that, unfortunately, you tend to do things only up to 80%. This creates a lot of displeasure among the others, who like to see things completely completed and who are annoyed with unfinished things. So many great deeds of yours, you ruin yourself because you do not finish them.

Summary:

  • The ADHD brain can perform amazingly well and have great ideas through its spontaneity and its ability to hyper focus.
