Education & Career choice with ADHD

ADHD has as a "special way to be" very special skills, but also special weaknesses. Everything has light and shadow in life and so it is good for ADHD sufferers if they know their strengths and weaknesses exactly.

Unfortunately, it is still common for people with ADHD to stay away from their potential with their school and vocational qualifications. This may mean that the intelligence quotient and one's own potential are actually much higher than the degree achieved. This happens because the attention and concentration disorder in the school repeatedly made mistakes, peculiarity errors accumulate and the bad self-organization also leads to many failures. Wrong is wrong and the error is counted equally, whether it was a careless mistake or the substance was not understood at all.

So many ADHD readers mess up the notes alone with these clerical errors. If you are still hyperactive and impulsive and always have to have the last word, then you play all the sympathies of the teachers, who then give the worse grade in case of doubt. Of course, the ADHD sufferer may feel that this is unfair, but teachers are also people and sympathies always play a major role in life. If you have taken on the position of the class clown and troublemaker, because teachers are terribly annoyed and indignant and of course not always fair and objective. Then there is the motivation disorder in the presence of ADHD. This is that big inner bastard that is so hard to get going for all the duties and expenses that are not fun. It is also difficult for those affected to complete their tasks in a concentrated and complete manner. And then comes the leap, the fleeting and superficial style of work and the forgetfulness, which also significantly affect performance.

Often, ADHD sufferers have little self-esteem because they had fewer successes than their peers and were more frequently exposed to criticism and failure. Self-doubts are unfortunately also transferred to others.

On the other hand, ADHDers can also do some things very well.

ADHD learners are creative people who can be very enthusiastic, highly committed if the purpose of their work interests them. You can be original, funny and curious. In addition, they are flexible, fast and innovative.

Without ADHD, our world would be a bit poorer. ADHD learners can also develop a great sense of justice and how the lions fight. Every company, every operator needs ADHD because they need their ideas and originality, but not too many of them, otherwise, they will sink into chaos!

Thus, the strengths of ADHD are in the creative field, in the development of new ideas, the original implementation, and the spontaneous actions and in the movement area. ADHD learners can have a wealth of ideas and burn off fireworks of ideas, but they have difficulty implementing them, with accuracy, reliability, and the right timing. ADHD sufferers often find it difficult to implement their great ideas because that requires perseverance, accuracy, stability, and continuity.

But ADHD readers can work well in the media sector, for example, because there is always new news that you do not have to deepen too much. They can be good paramedics, they can realize themselves in artistic fields or they can also do social jobs, where they are selflessly committed to groups of people that are close to their hearts.

What they are not good at are boring, monotonous activities that require accuracy, self-discipline, and perseverance. Anything boring makes ADHD problems big problems, as well as the meticulous, detailed processing of boring activities.

As an ADHD learner, you need a degree of freedom and creativity, but it is just as important to have structures and control. It is always a danger to ADHD people if they are left to their own devices, live their lives and nobody demands anything from them. The less structure there is from outside, the greater the motivation and drive disruption. For self-employed, who have to beat themselves is often a big problem, as well as housewives or unemployed. Although self-employment is very tempting, it is often hard for the ADHD expert to deal with formalities and business processes, and many ADHD students have already gone bankrupt with brilliant ideas because they pay for such side issues as tax returns, sales tax, and invoices, just did not mind. ADHD practitioners do not like heteronomy, but at the same time, they depend on being challenged and experiencing limitations.

First and foremost, when choosing a career, you should look to see where your talents are and what they really enjoy and what interests you.

More than any other, the ADHD is dependent on their own burning interest, because only then can he burn and inspire and then perform at their best. If possible, you should look for training that is more rigorous, clear, and where regular learning checks are required.

In general, ADHD colleges are better because they have much more structures. Universities of Applied Sciences are also smaller and the professors usually know their students and there are more personal relationships. There is no such anonymity and attendance is taken more seriously. In a large university, where hundreds of students start in a department and where even at the beginning of a semester hardly any seats can be found, there is a greater danger for people with ADHD that they are determined to stay in bed and find the easier way. And since most ADHD practitioners practice themselves in the art of self-excuses, they always find an argument for them, why you do not have to go to university right now. A certain amount of coercion and rules are needed by people with ADHD and it is better to admit this.

It is also an advantage in the schools if the classes are small and the teachers make an exciting lesson. Strict but fair teachers are best because, with compulsion and control, ADHD is better.

ADHD learners are also often late bloomers and so it may be that the school and vocational trainers are not straight, but rather more often the school is changed and several training courses are started. On the other hand, ADHD sufferers are also true stubborn men who, like a phoenix from the ashes, can still successfully set off after many failures and are able to beat their early starters by far. Only you cannot rely on it.

Importantly, ADHD learners learn self-discipline and perseverance. That sounds pretty boring, but you live much better with it. Failures and defeats are part of life, and successful people are not the ones who have never failed, but those who always stand up and keep their goals in mind.
